A picture of Dave Nelson - Photographer

I am a professional landscape, wildlife & nature photographer based in Central Scotland offering both group & bespoke photography workshops, tours and 1:1 tuition.

With a dedicated passion for travelling & photography, I have accessed & captured images from across the UK & internationally.

I thrive on finding hidden photographic gems, playing with angles & light to capture popular images from a different perspective.

Many of my photographic images have received awards - some of which have been published.

Previously, I have to supported small local charities & start-up businesses which have led to some interesting & challenging commissions from charity calendars to Gin Distillery marketing materials.

Amazing Nature - The Hvítá River, Iceland

The Hvítá River (White River) is a glacial river located in the south of Iceland.

On it's way south from the Langjökull glacier, its flow cascades over the iconic Gullfoss waterfall. From above, sediment deposits on the river bed create small temporary islands of dark volcanic sand which create amazing and abstract works of art.

Shot with DJI equipment.

  • Dave made the trip thoroughly enjoyable; he has a great knowledge of all aspects of photography, nothing was ever too much trouble and he always went the extra mile to help wherever it was needed. This was all done with a smile and his great sense of humour. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dave.

  • My photographic journey has just begun and I couldn't have been in better hands. Dave was always there with patient advice, tips and encouragement when it was needed. I was an absolute amateur and I never felt overwhelmed or that I couldnt progress. Dave explained the technicalities with great patience and never tired of having to repeat the guidance many times over the week.

  • He's a very knowledgable and experienced landscape photographer whose advice on composition was invaluable. I'm a complete beginner so he took time to explain to me about filters and ISO settings
